Friday was midsummer and on Saturday some Swed’s and I sat up a midsummer party in Vondelpark. The party had one of those midsummer poles with a lot of flower on it making it look like we where some creepy sect. Us dancing around it and singing loudly in a language most tourists and dutch people don’t understand probably didn’t make it any better….

Today I took a little trip on my bike and went to Beatrix park where the Norwegian artist Elena Engelsen once made a sculpture of a playing dog. The dog was placed in the park to show thanks to the dog owners using the park. The sculpture was apparently made as a reaction to the law of having to walk your dogs with a leash that came in the 70’s.

From Amsterdam there is not a long way to the nature. Just five minutes from where I live the nice parts of the river Amstel begins. Next to the river you can find playgrounds, farmhouses, horses, cows and sheep. I found a sheep that was so cute, I just had to pet him, he is on picture number one. While biking back again I saw a free exhibition with free wine.

Summer is here and I have bought some summer clothing! One of the stores I went to was ROOD, they only sell red stuff and as a redhead I got 10% discount!! I bought a whole outfit there, skirt, top, purse, and headband for just over 40€! amazing price. I love that store and would highly recommend it. They don’t just sell clothes, they sell everything- everything red that is.

Todays ASA exhibition was at The Thought Gallery (Molsteeg 11). The artists where: Orticanoodles, FAKE and Team Hansfred. Tonight there is going to be an after party at Sugar Factory, Lijnbaansgracht 238 from 00.00. At the sugar factory there is going to be a painting contest!

Today Project ASA had an artist, Förtress, signing autographs in the Outland store. Project ASA also painted the wall as well as hung up some drawings. It’s a great collection of art, you should go and see for yourself if you can. If not, I got an album on facebook with most of the art in it.

As an intern you often get the most interesting tasks at the office. Today I was told to get a wedding suit for an otter. I ran thru a whole bunch of stores in Amsterdam without finding any cloths that would fit the occasion. So I ended up buying a cheap t-shirt at H&M and made the suit from scratch with the t-shirt, paper, tape and a stapler.

Today I went to check out the “No Cuts No Glory” exhibition from Project ASA. It was really cool and most of the artist that made the art work where participating in the tour. We went past around 18 pieces of art and I think the exhibition was sponsored by Jameson, because there was whiskey for everyone! The exhibition is going on until the end of August, but today was the only day with guides and the artists them selfs. If you want to go and see the exhibition yourself you can find a map here.
