Midsummer in Vondelpark

June 27th, 2010

Friday was midsummer and on Saturday some Swed’s and I sat up a midsummer party in Vondelpark. The party had one of those midsummer poles with a lot of flower on it making it look like we where some creepy sect. Us dancing around it and singing loudly in a language most tourists and dutch people don’t understand probably didn’t make it any better….

Norwegian art in Amsterdam

June 22nd, 2010

Today I took a little trip on my bike and went to Beatrix park where the Norwegian artist Elena Engelsen once made a sculpture of a playing dog. The dog was placed in the park to show thanks to the dog owners using the park. The sculpture was apparently made as a reaction to the law of having to walk your dogs with a leash that came in the 70’s.

Hyper Island Graduate

June 21st, 2010

I am finally a Hyper Island Graduate and so proud. The last two years have been a great experience and I have grown so much together with my classmates. It is weird knowing that the course is finished and the next step now is to get a job in the real world. During the past week I was at Hyper Island doing the graduation week. at day one we presented our recent work for each other and gave each other feedback. Day two we talked about our own experiences at Hyper Island, our future goals and how to reach them. Day three we talked about the good and bad experiences from the modules and how they can be made better for the next classes of Digital Media. Day four was the day we all had waited for, Graduation.

We met at school and everyone had gotten a secret person to pitch for the rest of the class to guess. Amazingly everyone could guess every person even though sex, names, places and dates where not allowed to mention. When someone guessed the correct person that person got their diploma and told their pitch. After that we went on a boat for graduation dinner. The rest of the day was just an awesome Hyper party.

Hyper Island

June 14th, 2010

Back to school it is. I am in Karlskrona and times are good. Today I got to listen to everyones experiences during their final project and present how my projects went. It was nice meeting all my class mates again and getting some real feedback on the work I have done lately. One of the things I know that I should think more about from today is “how would this look on a mobile phone”

Biking next to the Amstel river

June 12th, 2010

From Amsterdam there is not a long way to the nature. Just five minutes from where I live the nice parts of the river Amstel begins. Next to the river you can find playgrounds, farmhouses, horses, cows and sheep. I found a sheep that was so cute, I just had to pet him, he is on picture number one. While biking back again I saw a free exhibition with free wine.

ROOD

June 12th, 2010

Summer is here and I have bought some summer clothing! One of the stores I went to was ROOD, they only sell red stuff and as a redhead I got 10% discount!! I bought a whole outfit there, skirt, top, purse, and headband for just over 40€! amazing price. I love that store and would highly recommend it. They don’t just sell clothes, they sell everything- everything red that is.
