My weekly treasure hunt is slowly starting again. When I first moved to Amsterdam I wrote about the treasures I found in the streets of Amsterdam and now I am beginning again. For non Amsterdamers and new readers I will explain this weekly treasure hunt quickly: Every part of Amsterdam has its own days for throwing away garbage that does not fit the garbage cans in the street (some places don’t have cans and they get to throw stuff in the streets more often). They throw away everything from beds, couches, tv’s and sewing machines to whatever you can imagine.
I can say that it is not going as good as it did when I first moved here. I guess it is because it is not the season for moving right now so people don’t throw away as much stuff. Maybe there will be more stuff to find closer to the summer. But even though I didn’t find anything worthy of bringing home to the apartment for cleaning and using I did find some treasures:
Some cocking tools and a race track
A old and nice work out bike
A tiny tea table for the balcony that I don’t have
